Legal terms are preserved, but all of your photos, friends, and other personal data are deleted along with your account. Because of this, it's a good idea to back up Snapchat photos/videos to another app (like Google Photos or iCloud Photos) to make sure you can still access them even when your Snapchat account is dead and gone. (Keep this info handy in case you change your mind and want to reactivate your account.) After taking the steps to delete your account, it will first be deactivated for 30 days. Snapchat notes that it "may retain some personal data" for deleted accounts, but it's all minor stuff. Go to the accounts portal and type in the username and password for the account you want to delete. Once done, the account will be deactivated.Īnd that's all there is to it.
To do this, open Snapchat and go to the Profile screen by tapping on the Bitmoji avatar in the top-left corner. Tap the Settings (gear) icon and scroll all the way down until you come to ' Account Actions.' Tap on ' Delete Account.' For the first 30 days, your account will get temporarily deactivated so, your data can be recovered but after 30 days if you do not log into your account, then the data will get erased.
